The World of Rubix I was born in 1964 in Plainview, Texas. I lived there until 1971 when my mother, sister, and me moved to California. I lived in California from 1971 until 1988. While living in California I was first introduced to computers when I was 13 years old. I regularly visited the local Radio Shack and wrote small BASIC programs. Working with high performance TRS-80 computers (4K RAM and cassette tape storage) Most of my summers and time after school was spent in the computer lab at Sierra College (Rocklin, California) an HP-2000 and a Burroughs system. When I was 15 years old, I took the proficiency examination and began attending Sierra College as a full-time student. Majoring in Computer Sciences with a minor in business I persued the college path for about a year until I was referred by chief of the computer department( Cliff Burns) to a full-time position computer programming for Servpro National Headquarters in Rancho Cordova, California. I was young and stupid and quit my computer programming job after about a year and a half. I then entered a trade school, Westland College. I chose to major in Electronics and Computer repair. Unfortunately the college went bankrupt after the first semester and I was out and so was my tuition. At this point I decided to give school a rest for a while and get a real job, haha. I managed Video Bob's ( An arcade in Roseville, California) for a year until the parent company Smorgy-Bobs (what a name) closed shop and moved on. This gave me a great opportunity to learn and play video games and spurned my interests in video and arcade style games. I have personally won 4 video games in contests and took first place in the Best-In-The-West Video Shootout in Sacramento, California playing against over 200 other people. I worked briefly for Coherent Laser Components and did some other odd jobs. Owning TRS-80, Apple, and Tandy computers in the earlier days thinking how fast that 286 was in comparison.. haha. In 1988 I moved to Walla Walla, Washington for a change of pace and to get my life going in the right direction. I immediately began working for Villa Mart, pumping gas. From their I moved to Cashier, Assistant Manager, and Finally Manager. In 1990, I became a father. My daughter Lacy is now 6 years old and currently attending Prospect Point School. She is the greatest!!! In 1991, I started my own Bulletin Board System(BBS) named Dragons Den which specialized in interactive type gaming and overall fun. I operated this using Virtual BBS software for about 3 years. This is how I met the legendary HogRider (John Masoner) who ran Wacky Hackers BBS in Walla Walla.. In 1993 I change jobs and began working for Grover Electric & Plumbing, where I worked for about a year and half. Gaining excellant warehouse and customer service skills. In 1995 I began my current occupation (or career rather) at Blue Mountain Internet. At BMI I am responsible for a number of different areas inluding Technical Support supervision. Creation and developement of the Windows and Windows 95 based software packages. Setting up web sites, virtual domains, name resolution, server monitoring, and implemenation of the latest technologies to help contribute to keeping BMI the cutting edge Internet Service Provider that it is. I am also the BMI webmaster. BMI is a great place to work and look forward to going to work each and every day. In 1996 I started Pageland, a web development company. This is proved very fun and enjoyable and it occupies most of my free time. I have to date created about 50 different web sites and probably well over 1,000 different web pages. It is now 1999, and I now really enjoy working from
the comforts of my mountain plantation. Having a full T-3
Internet Feed connected to my 1,400 MHZ(P-1400) Pentium
running 1 Gig of RAM and a 1500 Gig Drive provides
exceptional communication and overall performace
capabilities. For recreation I enjoy laughing, golfing, hiking, Fantasy Football , and playing Interactive Computer Games like Quake, C&C Red Alert (usually through the Internet). For TV, I enjoy watching the movie channels and of course the X-Files, Outer Limits, and Star Trek the Next Generation. Revised: January 31, 1998. |
